The Fox's Lesson

Chapters 21–22

In the golden fields of Earth, the Little Prince meets the Fox — a creature who does not want to play at first. But the Fox explains a beautiful idea: that one must be tamed before they can become friends.

Taming, the Fox says, means forming a bond. It takes time, patience, and care. As the Prince and the Fox spend time together, something changes. The world becomes more meaningful. The wheat fields — once ordinary — now remind the Fox of the Prince's hair.

When it’s time to part, the Fox reveals his secret: "One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye." The lesson is both joyful and painful — to love means to risk loss, but it also means understanding what truly matters.

The Fox’s wisdom stays with the Little Prince. It is the heart of the story — a reminder that love is not about owning, but about caring, remembering, and being responsible for what we have tamed.
