The Prince's Planet

Chapters 5–8

The Little Prince lives on a tiny planet no bigger than a house. It is called Asteroid B-612. On this lonely world, he tends to three volcanoes—two active and one extinct—and carefully removes any dangerous baobab sprouts that might split his planet apart.

But what makes his planet truly special is the rose. She is vain, proud, and beautiful. The Prince waters her, shields her from wind, and listens to her endless complaints. Though she rarely shows gratitude, he loves her deeply—and this love confuses and pains him.

The rose’s words trouble the Little Prince, and his desire to understand her leads him to leave his planet. This chapter shows how the Prince’s innocent heart wrestles with love, pride, and the need to care for someone—even when they are difficult.

His planet may be small, but it holds all the weight of his universe. Through his story, we see how tending to something fragile can make it priceless, and how real love begins with gentle responsibility.
